Synopsis

Zhou Mingrui is unexpectedly reincarnated into an alternate, Victorian-era world filled with steam technology, magic, and hidden dangers. He wakes up in the body of Klein Moretti, a young history graduate in the kingdom of Loen, who has just seemingly committed suicide under mysterious circumstances.
To find a way back to Earth, Klein begins investigating the bizarre events surrounding his death. This journey plunges him into the hidden world of Beyonders—individuals who consume magical potions to gain supernatural abilities across 22 distinct evolutionary pathways. However, this power comes with a terrifying cost: the constant threat of losing control and mutating into a mindless monster.

To protect his new family and uncover the truth, Klein joins the Nighthawks, an official church organization that hunts supernatural threats. He also secretly forms "The Tarot Club," a mysterious organization where he adopts the persona of "The Fool," a powerful ancient deity, guiding other Beyonders from behind a fog of secrets.

As Klein rises through the Beyonder sequences, he uncovers a cosmic reality. The world is plagued by corrupt orthodox churches, hidden cults, terrifying evil gods, and a looming apocalypse. His quest for home transforms into a desperate struggle for survival, sanity, and divinity as he climbs the path to become the true Lord of the Mysteries.
