C30 – The Night Market Exploded
The Three-star Cultivator before Wang Shan clarified the situation for him.
He had assumed the man was looking for trouble, but instead, the man said with a smile, “White Light Town has many Three-star Cultivators. If you’re looking to stay, you need to book a room a day in advance. At this hour, I’m afraid even the inns are fully booked.”
With that, he tossed a high-class hotel room card to Wang Shan.
“I own a house here in White Light Town. You’re welcome to stay in my room for now. Just let the front desk know when you’re checking out.”
This Three-star Cultivator truly exhibited the demeanor of a senior, showing considerable care for Wang Shan, his junior.
“Thank you,” Wang Shan said, grateful for the kindness. It was his first encounter with such an upright individual. He meant to ask the man’s name but realized he had already left the hotel.
At the front desk, Wang Shan discovered that the Three-star Cultivator was named Ma Niu, the young master of White Light Town’s Ma family. Ma Niu enjoyed making friends, though few became his close companions.
It was the first time Wang Shan had seen Ma Niu give someone his hotel room card, a sign of the high regard he held for Wang Shan.
Wang Shan and his companions soon settled into the high-class hotel.
Their room was spacious, with the lucky number 888 on the door!
Wang Shan rested until the evening before he had the chance to wander through the night market.
The night market in White Light Town was bustling with an array of goods, leaving Wang Shan’s head spinning.
He browsed the various stalls, hoping to trigger the system.
Regrettably, not a single item at the stalls elicited a response from the system.
It appeared that most of the goods on offer were counterfeit.
“Friends, you appear to be One-star Cultivators. I have an Earth Rank Thunder Spear Technique here that I can offer you at a 10% discount,” a middle-aged vendor offered Wang Shan with a grin.
Wang Shan examined the technique, but holding it in his hands, the system remained silent.
“How could a One-star Cultivator afford such a High Grade technique?” At that moment, a gaunt-faced young man snatched the technique right out of Wang Shan’s grasp!
Wang Shan initially had no interest in the technique, but he found the other’s conduct utterly repulsive.
“What’s the matter? Do you, a mere One-star Cultivator, actually think you can challenge me—a Three-star Cultivator—for this technique?” The thin-faced youth sneered at Wang Shan, having anticipated his reluctance to engage.
“Is being a Three-star Cultivator supposed to be impressive?” Wang Shan asked, his tone flat.
The thin-faced youth’s expression grew stormy. “Kid, in White Light Town, a Three-star Cultivator is akin to a deity. You’re signing your own death warrant by crossing me!”
Wang Shan would have steered clear of a Four-star Cultivator, but to him, this Three-star Cultivator was no better than rubbish.
“Seeking your own demise, I see.”
Activating his Water Condensing Arts, Wang Shan sent a chill toward the thin-faced youth.
“Fire Attribute? Heh, your luck’s run out today. I possess the innate Fire Attribute, your perfect counter,” the thin-faced youth boasted as he exhaled a dense black smoke.
“Scatter, everyone! A Three-star Cultivator’s about to brawl!”
The vendor abandoned his goods, yelling as he bolted.
The surrounding crowd scattered rapidly, yet the thin-faced youth’s black smoke swiftly enveloped the area.
“Detonate!”
At the youth’s command, the black smoke billowing from his mouth set off a chain of explosions.
The lively night market was suddenly captivated by the thunderous blasts.
Spectators surmised that Wang Shan, who had dared to defy the Three-star Cultivator, was likely reduced to ashes.
