Chapter 24: Missed! Being Led Around!
The three ghost controllers moved quickly.
It only took them a little over two hours to reach the location of the task Lin Feng had taken.
That place was Xiaofeng Mountain.
Over a hundred years ago, Xiaofeng Mountain was a tourist spot outside Liucheng, where locals liked to hike on weekends.
There were still some old and dilapidated temples on Xiaofeng Mountain.
“Old Guo, Lin Feng probably hasn’t arrived yet. Look at that temple.” A ghost controller pointed to a temple on Xiaofeng Mountain.
That temple, which had been abandoned for over a hundred years, was now lit by candlelight.
It was clearly unusual.
“The main road up the mountain is there, and the view from there is the best. We can see other directions. Let’s ambush Lin Feng there.” The square-faced ghost controller pointed to a small hill.

He still didn’t accept the task first but planned to do the same as before: eliminate the ghost at the location and then accept the task, so that the others wouldn’t be able to track his position and might even be misled by him.

On Xiaofeng Mountain, the three ghost controllers were still waiting.
They were very patient.
After waiting for more than an hour, the three ghost controllers showed no signs of impatience.

This ghost controller held two communicators in his hand, one connected to the internet and the other not.

The square-faced leader and another ghost controller headed to the quarry.

Taking a shortcut, by around 3 PM, the square-faced leader and the other ghost controller reached the quarry.
“The ghosts here have already been eliminated?” The square-faced leader got the news from the quarry workers.
“Who eliminated them? Was it a young man?” the square-faced leader pressed.
“Yes, sir, very young, about fifteen or sixteen years old. We thought he was lying, but he really did eliminate them. Our ghost detectors didn’t react at all.” a worker supervisor replied.
“It was him, after all,” the other ghost controller, Qi Ping, said.
“When were they eliminated?” the square-faced leader asked.
“About half an hour ago.”
Half an hour ago!
“Did you see which way he went?” the square-faced leader pressed.
The worker supervisor shook his head, “I didn’t pay attention. He’s a ghost controller, so I didn’t dare look too much.”
“Qi Ping, keep an eye on the communicator. Let’s leave here first.” The square-faced leader made a decision.
