Chapter 162: Flame Fruit
"Haha, I can’t blame you for that at all, Elder Journey. After all, the Flame Fruit was only discovered and named fifty years ago. Before, we would just brush past it and neglect it like a normal fruit. However, it changed when one mercenary accidentally ate an overripe Flame Fruit, and discovered its intoxicating properties. After that, the popularity of the Flame Fruit exploded, and they became harder and harder to find," Maras explained in detail.
As someone who just woke up from a deep slumber, he did not think that it was strange for ’Journey’ not to know of this particular fruit. Instead, he even marveled at just how old ’Journey’ was due to this interaction.
While waiting for the mercenaries, Miguel decided to try some of the alcohol that was available in Maras Tavern as well. He wanted to see if there were any more that had the same characteristics as the Flame Fruit.
Unfortunately, only the Ember Ale emitted such properties, while the other ales were just brewed out of normal fruits.
After talking for a while, though, Miguel was able to tell that Maras was not aware of the special properties of the Flame Fruit.
He observed him and the people around him for a bit and realized that it was only normal. In this world, cultivation was not a thing, much less dual cultivation. He guessed that they might not even know of the concepts of Yang Energy and Yin Energy even if he told them about the unique properties of the Flame Fruit.
One thing he noticed was also Maras’ tendency to pinch the area right below his navel. From that action as well as the property of the Flame Fruit, Miguel already knew that he was experiencing a serious problem.
As he sipped a glass of bitter ale, Miguel suddenly asked, "How long had it been since the last time you slept with a woman?"
The question was very direct and straightforward. Even Edith at the side almost choked on her third glass of ale that she was drinking after hearing Miguel’s sudden question.
Maras also paused for a good few seconds before he shook his head in confusion.
"I must have heard wrongly, Elder Journey. What did you ask again?"
Miguel repeated his question with a flat tone. He did not mind his confusion, as he knew that his question was truly a little too sudden.
Hearing the question once more, Maras could not help but feel confused as to why the well-respected and well-mannered ’Journey’ was asking such a sensitive question.
"Don’t worry too much about it. The area below your navel would always ache, especially in the middle of the night, right? This involves your health, so answer my question truthfully. I am just merely repaying a favor," Miguel stated, seeing the visible confusion in Maras’ eyes.
This was just a minor repayment for Maras’ actions in introducing him to those mercenaries.
"This..." Maras hesitated. However, when he heard that it was for his health, and even ’Journey’ managing to point out that his stomach was always hurting, he mustered the courage to say it.
He looked around, and after making sure that no one was eavesdropping, he lowered his head and whispered in the smallest voice possible, "Although I am ashamed to say this, it has been around forty years ago, as far as I can recall."
He looked at Journey intently and asked, "Is there something wrong with me, Elder Journey? How do I resolve this?"
His face looked serious and worried. He had been enduring the aching of the area below his navel for a few years now. If Journey knew of it, then he must also know how to cure it.
He did not think that ’Journey’ was lying at all. Aside from the fact that he had no reason to lie to him, in Maras’ mind, Journey was a very old individual who knew a lot of things that young people like him were not aware of.
After all, from what he knew, in this world, the stronger you were, the more likely you were to be an old person. Just like the Martial Artist Orman from before. As far as Maras’ knew, Orman was already over a hundred years old.
Miguel did not beat around the bush and immediately told Maras’ that the aching on his navel was caused by the overaccumulation of his Yang Energy.
In layman terms, it can be interpreted as him having been blueballed since forty years ago. Even a normal blue ball would already hurt a lot; how much more if he had been experiencing it for around forty years?
When Miguel explained it, he noticed that Maras’ had a blank look on his face.
’Energy what?’
His words were pretty deep, and Maras was not able to understand anything about them at all.
In the end, Miguel could only explain it to him as though he were a child.
"In any case, you just have to release your pent up frustration to resolve your issue. The first time will hurt, though, so just bear with it."
The old Maras’ shivered in fright after hearing that it would hurt. He had a blank look on his face and could only nod his head absentmindedly.
Although he thought that it was strange for Journey to have such a deep understanding of this matter, Maras’ decided to keep his mouth shut and believe his words.
At this moment, though, he was already planning to go to the dark district and vent his pent-up frustration there. It has been so long since he had sex that he has already forgotten what it felt like down there.
A few moments later, the waiter finally returned with the mercenaries that Maras’ was talking about.
Miguel and Edith turned around to see two beautiful women standing right behind the waiter.
Seeing the two of them, Maras smiled and said at the top of his stool, "You guys are here. Let me introduce you to Elder Journey here."
